MATCH CALL-OFF SPARK OUTCRY

It was supposed to be a match that would kick start the new year rolling with a bang, ironically, it did ended up for the wrong reason.

Today's scheduled match between MPFC and SomeACJC FC were supposed to have kicked-off at 3pm (+0800GMT).

Both team buses arrived early for the match and as they were getting ready in the dressing room, mother nature got in their way.

A couple of short spells of heavy torrential rains poured onto the pitch as players watched helplessly about the outcome of it all.

SomeACJC FC were first to test the pitch for its playability and they were fine with it.

The team's worst nightmare came true as MPFC were almost getting ready to gear up for a soaky afternoon.

Stadium officials at the 7 year old AMK Stadium decided to cancel play due to unplayable pitch conditions. Stadium officials cited that the pitch which was only merely water-logged was "unfit" to be played in despite the green light of persuasion by match officials.

The decision as to whether play should go on held up for almost another hour before both teams decided to postpone the match and head off for the team bus.

This was, however, not without controversial comments made by Munjen winger Fir and his team mates.
